사단법인 마로(이하 마로)와 All Or Nothing Dance Theatre(이하 AoN)은 2019년부터 한국의 연희와 영국의 공중댄스시어터 (Aerial Dance Theatre)를 융합하는 협업공연제작을  진행하였다.  동서양서커스의 예술과 기술이 만나 교류하는 장을 펼치고, 이를 통해 동서양의 미학적, 사상적, 예술적 가능성을 관통할 수 있는  다문화적인 작품 < Life is Circus 인생은 서커스 >공연 프로젝트를 창작하기 위함이였다.
 2019년 마로는 '열두고개'라는 작품으로 제주 공연장상주단체육성사업을 통해 AoN과 첫 교류를 시작하였다. 삶과 죽음 안에서의 보편적인 감정들을 표현하여 감동과 위로를 전하는 공연을 만들자는 취지로 미디어파사드와 한국의 춤과 음악, 에어리어 댄스가 융합하였다. 2020년은 코로나로 인애 모든 극장공연이 무효화 되며 공연을 올릴 수는 없었으나 함께 온라인을 통해 이야기를 하고 교류하며 서로를 보다 깊게 이해하는 시간을 가질 수 있었다. 2021년은 스코틀랜드의 극장공연을 계획하였으나 오미크론의 기승으로 재차 극장공연이 불가해지며 온라인미디어 공연제작을 진행하게 되었다.  Circle이라는 제 목으로 선형적 Connection 을 중심 테마로 가져갔으며 Site-Specific 공연과 온라인미팅을 통한 협업제작으로 제주의 숲,바다, 달이 스코틀랜드의 그것과 이어져 있고 우리의 음악과 춤이 그들의 음악과 춤과 이어져있음을 이야기하였다. 코로나 상황과 맞물린 새로운 시도인만큼 새로운 소통과 새로운 창작방식을 경험하는 소중한 시간이 되었다. 그리고 이 웹사이트는 우리들의 경험을 보다 많은이들에게 공유하고 나누고자 제작되게 되었다. 
우리들의 예술적 교류가  그 어느때보다도 교류와 화합, 평화의 만남이 절실한 요즈음 사람들에게 경계를 허물고 문화적 차이를 넘어서는 희망의 메세지로 전달되기를 바란다.

Maro Inc.(MARO) and All Or Nothing Dance(AON) have collaborated on performance production that combines Korean Yeon Hee and Scotland Aerial Dance Theatre since 2019. It was to create a forum where eastern and western circus come together and exchange their art and technique, eventually to perform 'Life is Circus' a multicultural project that penetrates the aesthetic, ideological, and artistic potential of  East and West. In 2019, Maro began the first exchange with AoN via the Jeju performance resident development project with a work called 'Twelve Doors'.  The media facade, Korean dance and music, and aerial dance are fused in order to create a performance that conveys to touch people’s hearts and comfort them by expressing universal emotions in life and death. In 2020, COVID-19 has canceled all the theatre performances including ours. However, we could better understand one another by communicating and interacting online. In 2021, we planned to perform in a theatre in Scotland, however, due to the spread of the Omicron virus, we had to replace it with online media performance. The performance is entitled 'Circle', of which the main theme is a linear connection. Through Site-Specific performance and collaborative production via online conference, we tried to tell that the forest, ocean, and moon in Jeju-island are connected to those of Scotland, and likewise, our music and dance are connected to those of theirs. It was a fresh attempt made in the COVID-19 context and presented a precious opportunity to experience new forms of communication and new methods of artistic creation. And this website has been created to share our experiences with a greater number of people. We hope that our artistic exchanges can convey hopeful messages to those who are now longing for communication, harmony, and peaceful get-together more than ever, beyond boundaries and cultural differences.
