한반도 남쪽의 화산섬 제주는 아름다운 자연뿐만 아니라 독특한 지역 문화로도 이름이 높다. 제주 토박이 예술인들이 뭉친 사단법인 마로는 짧게는 15년, 길게는 30년 이상 한 길에 매진해온 예인들의 집단이다. 2000년 풍물굿패로 시작한 이래, 함께 먹고살며 제주의 민속·무속 신화를 바탕으로 전통 공연을 무대화하는데 힘써왔다. 특히 제주 굿에서 영감을 받아 공감과 치유를 이끌어내는 '잔치형 예술'을 추구하고 있다.
동시대와 소통의 끈을 놓지 않으려는 마로의 노력은 꾸준한 창작극 발표와 해외 진출에서 더 두드러진다. 2013년 이후로 현대 공연 연출기법을 굿에 적용한 작품들, 특히 제주 굿과 멀티미디어가 결합된 새로운 형태의 공연을 만들어나가고 있으며, 2015년 뉴욕 한국문화원 오픈스테이지 최우수상 수상, 에든버러 프린지 다크챗 어워드 최우수 3개 부문에 노미네이트되는 등 결실을 맺고 있다.
연 800회 이상의 제주민속촌 상설 공연과 제주문예회관 월정기공연 '허튼굿'을 통해 제주문화예술 발전에 이바지하고 국내외 아티스트들과 적극적으로 협연을 도모하는 마로.열린 마음으로 소통하고 화합하며 한국 예술의 아름다움을 알리기 위해 사단법인 마로는 앞으로도 정진할 것이다.

Located southwest of the Korean Peninsula, Jeju is a volcanic island is renowned for beautiful sceneries and a unique native culture. MARO, founded by Jeju artists who have more than 20 years of professional experience in Korean trigonal performing arts, dedicated to fostering national artistic traditions and local folk culture through dance and movement, song and percussion, interwoven with Kut (Korean shamanic rituals).
The aim of MARO’s works is to revive and reinvent Korean tradition and thereby establish a festive type of performance in which has a healing and harmonizing energy. Since 2013, MARO has applied contemporary technologies into their production, earning them the reputation as one of Korea's premier traditional arts troupes. Most notably in 2015, awarded the best prize in OPENSTAGE by New York Cultural Center, nominated three parts of Darkchat Award in Edinburgh fringe festival.
MARO have more than 800 performances annually including a permanent performance at Jeju Folk Village Museum and a monthly performance HutenKut, and continuously organized exchange workshops and showcases with diverse domestic and international artists. MARO will continue working diligently to create and promote their productions that are informative and that help bridge the gap between the past and present.

AoN은 공중에서 몸짓의 언어로 메시지를 전달한다. 땅과 공기, 그리고 사이를 넘나들며 공중 묘기를 춤과 결합시키고 풍부한 관객참여를 이끌어내어 스코틀랜드 공중 서커스의 선두주자가 되고 있다. AoN은 다양한 문화적 배경의 사람들과 일하며 다채로운 예술과 관계적 프로그램 연구하는데 열정을 갖고 있으며 그들의 기술을 섬세한 안무로 표현하여 수준 높은 예술작품들을 발표하였다.

대표작으로 2010/11년 StrangeBrid Zirkus(스트레인지버드 지르쿠스)와 공동제작한 투어공연 ‘Uncharted Watererssms’, 듀엣 댄스시어터 ‘Sprlow’, SO Festival에서 발표된 크레인쇼 ’What A Picture!’, 나무들과 약 10만명의 관객들 위를 오가며 펼친 공연 ‘Enchanted Forest’, 글래스고의 상징적인 과학센터에서 진행한 ‘Sound to Sea’, 에든버러 newest festival 참여작 ‘Hidden Door’, 그리고 스코틀랜드 투어공연 ‘Heroes’ 등이 있다.
ㅇ교육과 훈련, 지역 커뮤니티 참여에도 중점을
아트서커스의 활성화를 위해 AoN이 기울이는 노력은 스코틀랜드가 사랑하는 예술단체로 성장하게 했다. 프로젝트 ‘Watch, Fly, Come,Try’와 프로젝트 ‘Flying High’등을 통해 꾸준히 공중댄스교육 및 연구를 진행하고 있다. 또한 스코틀랜드 국립극장과의 파트너쉽을 통해 지역 커뮤니티 축제와 세계적인 축제 에든버러 페스티벌에 일익을 담당하고 있다.

All or Nothing Dance Theatre (AON)
All or Nothing are Scotland's leading aerial dance company creating, performing, teaching and pioneering aerial arts in Scotland since 2006. Based in Edinburgh, they blend breathtaking aerial acrobatics with dance, theatre and contemporary circus.
Our work ranges from small scale theatre to large scale outdoor spectacle. We created aerial magic amongst the trees for Enchanted Forest and Archerfield’s Christmas Fairy Trail, danced down buildings for Edinburgh’s Hogmanay Street Party, and flew from the Tyne Bridge as part of Freedom on the Tyne. We have spun to the tunes of the Grit Orchestra for Celtic Connections spectacular Bothy Culture and Beyond, toured the length and breadth of Scotland with aerial and dance shows Uncharted Waters, Sprawl,Three’s A Crowd and Heroes, and created participatory performances with 50 young people and Flying Witches on a 60 tonne crane.
Teaching, training and participation are vital to the company’s work and they run classes for all ages and abilities throughout the year, as well as their aerial tasters project Watch, Fly, Come, Try. All or Nothing work with organisations such as National Theatre Scotland, Luminate and the Beacon, to deliver longer term engagement projects, constantly challenging assumptions about who can do aerial.
